Product Review for Nutribullet RX

I feel like I have done y’all a disservice by not telling you about what I use to make my nutriblasts. You’ve seen it in my pictures and recipe posts but I have not introduced you to my number one breakfast companion. If you’ve missed the recipes, check out Vitamin C Blast, Apple-Strawberry Popsicles, Berry and Chia Smoothie.

In my quest for healthy living, I knew that I needed a way to get all my vitamins to absorb much quicker than any vitamin pill would absorb because my system was gun shy and pulled the trigger way too soon most days. So, I saw an infomercial one day about the Nutribullet Extraction System and wondered if it would actually work, taste good, be easy to do, etc, etc.

How does it work?

The Nutribullet breaks up every part of fruit, including seeds, extracting the nutrients from each nook and cranny so you get the ultimate benefit. I went out on a limb and ordered the original Nutribullet thinking that it would be the ultimate game changer for me and guess what? It has been the best investment in my health that I have ever made. It has been the game changer and this product is phenomenal in so many ways.

There are sooooooo many reasons that this system is my best friend but the biggest is that I can get 4 to 6 servings of fruits and vegetables without even having to think about it later in the day. The USDA says that you need 3 to 5 servings of vegetables and 2  to 4 servings of fruit everyday. Going on the max for both, I need a total of 9 servings of fruits and veggies total everyday. Throw 5 in your cup for breakfast and your meal time decisions are a little easier throughout the day.

A few more reasons that this system will knock your socks off:

It does much more than making a nutriblast. You can make soups & fresh squeezed (or extracted) apple or orange juice. Mixing sauces and marinades. I have even made my own coconut butter and baby food!

This sucker is soooooo easy to clean! It is dishwasher safe, over and over and over again. The motor base is easily cleaned with a Clorox wipe or wet paper towel. I have found that the cup and blade rinse without any scrubbing when they are rinsed immediately after use.

Which system is best?

I have used both the Nutribullet and Nutribullet Rx systems. After 4 years of using the original Nutribullet for making my morning smoothie, I decided to upgrade to the newer version because it had a much larger cup capacity and, as you will learn when you order yours, it shuts on and off by itself. I’m a nerd but this was my biggest selling point because I don’t have to guess if it’s all broken down, the NutriBullet RX does it for me!

I ordered my Nutribullet Rx from Amazon last summer and it was certified refurbished. I have not had a single problem with the original Nutribullet or my certified refurbished Nutribullet Rx.

Product Review for Bissell ProHeat Pet Carpet Cleaner

Have you ever had your carpets professionally cleaned? The price is high and includes 3 rooms for the price of 2 or whatever deal they are luring you in with. About 5 years ago I paid a local company to come and clean our carpets, master bedroom, the living room and one extra bedroom. They did not move furniture, that cost more, and they didn’t get out the areas of wear that I thought would easily come out. It was $175 of hard-earned money for a job half done.

I decided I would never pay a company to clean our carpets again. I did product comparisons on many different products out there but always came back to a Bissell that was pet specific. I bought a Little Green Bissell when my little puppy princess joined me after college and it is still kicking so I know that Bissell is durable and stands the test of time (or atleast 11 years).

I have to tell you that you really feel like an adult when you buy a carpet cleaner (or a toilet, we’ve done that recently too!)

My site’s settled on this beauty! The Bissell Proheat 2X Premier Full-Size Carpet Cleaner.

I without hesitation recommend this amazing carpet cleaner! It has been fabulous to have it available for any cleaning project I need it for. Because I don’t have to go rent it, this busy working mom can clean a room at a time and get that perfect clean without having to worry about being charged for an extra day or worrying that the professional won’t get the job done to my specifications.

My most frequent use is furniture cleaning. Our couches are getting old and have made it through 2 toddlers food stains and other kid stain contributions and every time I clean them, I am beyond pleased with the results and how extremely easy it is to get a professionl clean on my own.

I recently needed to spot treat our living room rug for ketchup stains after a movie watching “picnic” with the kids. I did not pre-treat the ketchup and it came out like a charm with only a few strokes of the pet stain tool. Yay!

I do recommend using the Bissell Pro 2X Deep Cleaning Concentrated Formula. It does the trick and the bottle has lasted me through 3 full house carpet cleanings and lots of random kid and pet messes.

Comment with your questions if you still wonder if the Bissell Pro 2X Deep Cleaner is right for you. I’ll answer you as soon as I’m finished using my Bissell Pro in our living room, so about 30 mins. Seriously, so easy to use!

Sleep. Dream. Sparkle.

I love this pillow by Lola & Darla & it’s absolutely perfect for today’s thoughts. I’ve been asked, “how do you do it with the exhaustion of autoimmune, two energetic boys & a more than full time demanding job during the school year?” On one hand I could say that it’s easy because my kids at home & at school depend on me so I just get life done. On the other hand I could be completely honest with you & tell you that by the end of the day I want to drop. Actually, more honesty, just getting one little guy to daycare & me to school siphons my energy. Then I teach 3 classes with 2 remediation classes to prepare for STAAR testing & coach 2 athletic periods as well as after school practice. Then it’s time to pick up the boys & head home to cook supper. After supper, my husband & I split, bath or clean the kitchen. I prefer bath so I can sit for a few minutes before its time to get the boys out of the tub & into bed. After both stinkers are in bed, I may have some work to do that I didn’t get done during my conference period or I go to bed. Rinse & repeat & by the weekend I’m exhausted.

You don’t truly understand the exhaustion of autoimmune disease until you’ve experienced it for yourself. Picture your immune system as little soldiers that fight against your body, especially in a flair up. Even in remission, the exhaustion is still there but I laugh in the face of exhaustion and keep sparkling on! I find rest on the weekends and an early bedtime to be a necessity. So what exactly does lack of sleep do to your body? That’s the question on my mind today.

I searched ‘lack of sleep effects’ on google and the first thing I read said that sleep deprivation can cause chronic health problems. (It was on google, not sure who to give credit to) Cha ching! I’m on the right track.

I love webmd.com for information regarding my health. The article “10 Things to Hate About Sleep Loss” has awesome information. It states that lack of sleep can cause you to be grumpy and foggy. I agree! Other problems with sleep deprivation include being more likely to cause accidents, sleep loss dumbs you down and sleep deprivation can lead to serious health problems. I think I’ll stop there because that’s exactly what I was thinking I would find.

It seems to me that the answer to cure disease might be getting some extra sleep. So how can I sleep more soundly at night to cure that troublesome gut and put my immune system in check? I found mindbodygreen.com to be a great source of information.

For one, turn off the blue light. I’m really bad about setting my alarm, playing on my phone and falling asleep with it in my hand. I think I’ll try falling asleep without the blue light for a few nights and see how that goes.

Also, ‘park your worries in another room’ so basically turn your mind off before bedtime. This is super hard for a worry wart such as myself. I’ve had a dr tell me to fall asleep running the following statement over and over in my mind, “stop thinking, stop thinking, stop thinking”. It really works!

Next of interest is to avoid cured meats and aged cheeses such as parmesan because it releases norepinephrine which contributes to the fight or flight reflex. I love cheese, especially shredded parmesan, so I’m not guaranteeing you that I’ll see success with this one.

Hmmmmm, exercise regularly, see my post “Catch 22” for my feelings on exercise.

The next topic deserves its own post. CHECK THE MATTRESS! My husband and I have the great debate, soft or firm, and I’m a softie and he prefers the opposite. It says that a mattress should be changed every seven years. Ours is 6ish years old so I almost have a good argument there. Maybe next year (darn). I’ve always wanted a sleep number bed so maybe with enough begging and some backup from this research, hubby will agree to one.

I’ve got my work cut out for me when it comes to sound sleeping. Pretty sure I have only slept all the way through the night a handful of time since before sweetie #2 was born in July 2014. My goal tonight is a sound, restful night’s sleep with a few glittery dreams scattered through the night. Sound sleep equals happy mommy! Happy wife equals happy life!
